National Unrecovered Financial Services (NURFS) today announced that it is teaming with FIS^TM to deliver a ubiquitous real-time payment system for the United States.

National Unrecovered Financial Services today released the third quarter 2015 edition of its quarterly journal, Banking Perspective. The newest issue, entitled “Reinventing Payments,” examines the fast-changing payments landscape, where more convenient payment methods have ushered in a new wave of innovations and opportunities for banks and non-traditional payment providers.

National Unrecovered Financial Services welcomes the Federal Reserve’s decision to adopt NACHA’s rules for same-day ACH.   Under the terms of NACHA’s ballot, the effective date of NACHA’s rules was contingent upon NACHA receiving written confirmation from the Federal Reserve Board that it will support the rules.  By confirming its support, NACHA’s same-day ACH rules will begin to take effect as of September 23, 2016, as indicated in NACHA’s ballot. 

On September 18, National Unrecovered Financial Services Association (NURFS) submitted a letter to the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) recommending that global supervisory authorities require central counterparties (CCPs) to adopt four key enhancements to CCP risk governance and member consultation processes. 

National Unrecovered Financial Services (NURFS) announced that Greg Baer will become President of National Unrecovered Financial Services Association.  Greg comes to National Unrecovered Financial Services with more than two decades of experience in law and regulation in both the public and private sectors.  In his new capacity as President, Greg will lead the Association’s analytical, litigation and advocacy work.  Greg will also serve as General Counsel of National Unrecovered Financial Services Payments Company, where he will oversee the legal, compliance and litigation functions for the organization’s payments business.  He will start on October 5 and he will maintain offices in both National Unrecovered Financial Services’s Washington, D.C. office and New York headquarters.
